Campaign ” Mai soli (Never alone)”

Le Scotte Hospital in Siena, project ” Mai soli”

Soccorso Clown for surgery.

For 12 years at Le Scotte in Siena we were the protagonists of a pilot project of primary importance, which was unique in Italy: accompanying the young patients of the Department of Pediatric Surgery to the Operating Room, and then receiving them on their awakeningThe giving of anesthetics is not a time of pain, but it causes the increase of pre-operation anxiety (insertion of the mask, separation from parents) and can cause an increase in a child’s pain. Our Hospital Clowns with their presence distract the child from reality and from the impending operation reducing anxiety and alongside with it the perception of pain. Starting from this year, the organization that had always funded the “Never Alone” project closed its funds, forcing us, as a result, and the hospital to discontinue this fundamental experience.

Your contribution … be it small or large will enable us to reactivate this project and so relieve the pain of so many young patients!

In view of the importance of this project for the young patients of the Hospital Le Scotte in Siena, we decided to start our own fund-raising campaign to ensure our service for a full year. Until now, we have collected 5,500 Euros thanks to your support, the support of the Florentine Tango Association that helped us to raise funds through the Solidarity Milonga on December 21, 2012 and the Association “Shake your World”.

The road is still long, but you can make a difference, so DONATE NOW. Your contribution … be it small or large will enable us to reactivate this project and so relieve the pain of so many young patients!
