Hospital Umberto I Rome, Project “A Summer with a Smile”
The more painful experiences you have, the more you are afraid that they will come back. This is why for many years the hospital clowns from Soccorso Clown have brought a smile to the Umberto I Hospital in Rome.
This year, the project “Smiles in Hospitals”, financed by the Rome City Council, ends in June, leaving many children in the Umberto I paediatric wards without our clowns.
Our presence is a way for them to turn the negative experience of a hospital stay into something positive. The clown not only makes the child less anxious, but also helps to lessen interpersonal conflicts.
The smile of a child is important to us, and you can make the difference!
This fundraising project aims to finance the months which are not covered, and to make sure that the children in the Policlinico Umberto I are not left alone during the summer, which is so full of life for everybody else.
Your help will allow these children to hope for the arrival of our clowns, to smile even when life is really difficult.
